Bell Excavating & Logging LLC is a small, family-owned business operating out of Eagle Creek, Oregon. The business was founded in 2017 by Chad Bell to provide quality, reliable excavating and logging services.

Chad Bell is the owner and primary operator. Chad grew up in Boring, Oregon and spent much of his youth on the jobsite with his grandpa who was a logger. From an early age Chad had a passion for operating equipment and working on land-based projects.
​
After graduation Chad did a variety of work include commercial and residential excavating, driving log truck, and logging. In 2002 Chad started working for Wayne Stone Logging as an equipment operator. From his 20 years working for Wayne, Chad has learned every aspect of logging and has worked for landowners of all sizes, including small private, large industrial,
Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) managed lands, Washington Department of Natural Resource (DNR) managed lands, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and US Forest Service (USFS) lands. His area of expertise is ground based thinning operations.
Chad is supported in his business by his wife Jill Bell. Jill is a logger's daughter who grew up in Philomath, Oregon. She has a bachelor's degree in Forest Engineering and a Master of Business Administration, both from Oregon State University. Jill is employed full time within the timber industry, but supports Chad in growing and developing his business.

Bell Excavating & Logging is committed to quality and sustainability. Chad and Jill recognize producing a quality product is equally as important as sustainability within the timber industry. This includes meeting the requirements of all state and federal regulations, while ensuring all projects provide for clean water and air, protect wildlife habitat, maximize carbon sequestration, and maintain forest health.
Both Chad and Jill are actively involved with Oregon based forestry outreach and education programs. It is important to both of them to be engaged in educating people on the benefits of properly managed forests, and to correct potential misconceptions about forestry. Today's timber industry is high tech and sustainable. The industry also provides rewarding, family wage jobs to people of all skill levels.

Chad serves as a Director for the Oregon Logging Conference, which is held each February in Eugene, Oregon. Jill is an active member of Oregon Women in Timber, in addition to volunteering with various other forestry education programs in including Forests Today and Forever, Future Natural Resource Leaders, and Oregon State University College of Forestry. Both Chad and Jill enjoy talking about their careers in the timber industry and helping to encourage the next generation to choose a career in the woods.
